Quilt Auction Update

Quilt Auction Success

We are giving thanks for all of the support we received from friends like you during the 2008 Quilt Auction. We have tallied up the income and expenses, and have raised over $25, 000 in support for the camp!

The breakdown is as follows:
Quilt Raffle: $2,880
Live Auction: $15,375
Silent Auction: $1,747
Church and WELCA donations: $2,150
Meal offering: $798
Penny Dahl Quilt Kits: $365
Thrivent Support: $3,000
The total minus expenses is over $25,000.

Thank you so much for your part in making this great fundraiser possible.

Awards and Winners

Quilter's Choice Award 'Grandmother's Flower Garden' made by Virginia ScheffertThe Quilter's Choice Award given out at the Appreciation Dinner was given to Virginia Scheffert who 'recycled' a partially stitched top-'Grandmother's Flower Garden' and hand quilted it to make an outstanding quilt. We appreciate all of her hard work and support of Red Willow Ministries.

Auctioneer's Choice Co-Award 'Sudoku' made by Connie IversonThe Auctioneer's Choice Award was awarded by Shelley Halvorson and Nikki Boote. The winning quilts were 'Snow Churn' made by Lorraine Edlund, and 'Sudoku' made by Connie Iverson and donated by Trinity Lutheran of Binford.

Bidder's Choice Award 'Snow Churn' by Lorraine EdlundThe Bidder's Choice Award went to Lorraine Edlund for her lovely quilt, 'Snow Churn'. Everyone at the Quilt Auction with a bid number was eligible to vote for this coveted prize.

'Biblical Gems' 2008 Raffle QuiltThe winner of the quilt raffle was Rubie Brintnell, a member at Our Savior's in Devils Lake. Our appreciation goes out to all who purchased tickets, and to Joan Slusser, Nancy McKinnon and Terry Dramstad for the lovely quilt.

Adult Fall Retreats

Creative Memories Weekend Retreat

November 14-16, 2008

Jill will offer new ideas, a variety of scrapbooking supplies, and a chance to turn those boxes of loose pictures into albums of memories. The retreat begins at 6:00 pm Friday evening and concludes Sunday noon.

Cost is $115.00 (payable to Jill Haugen)

Youth Fall Retreats

K-3rd Wild West Rodeo

October 4, 2008
You don't have to be a rodeo expert to join us for this retreat, but you do have to be ready for lots of fun and excitement, including horse rides! Then learn about how we are all winners because we have Jesus' love! This one day retreat is for students in grades K-3.

Cost is $20 per child and $15 for any additional children in the same family. Contact the camp office to register.

Confirmation Retreat:
Stumbling through the Bible & Standing on the Promises - The Apostle's Creed

October 17-18, 2008
Students in grades 7-9 can choose to spend the weekend learning about reading Scripture, relying on the promises God makes to us in the Bible, or diving into the Apostle's Creed to explore the foundation of our faith. There will be plenty of time for games, worship, hikes and campfire.

The cost is $45 per student and $40 for any additional children in the same family. Contact the camp office to register.

Learning to Use My Bible

November 21-22, 2008
Friday 5:00 pm to Saturday Noon

Come to camp and learn how to use the most important book in the world, your Bible! Students in grades 3-6 will learn how to navigate the Bible, learn about the different books of the Bible and why God gave us the Bible. Don't miss out on this great opportunity to get to know the Bible better!
