Camp Memories...
From the Director
From Becky Goetz, Co-Director
My mother loved poems and words. Our farm kitchen had a blackboard where she would write words for us to look up and practice using. She also memorized poems, and enjoyed sharing them with friends and family. Here is one perfect for this time of year:
My heart is full of thankfulness
this season of the year
The bathing suits are dry at last
Halloween is safely past
And although it's coming fast
Christmas isn't here!
My heart is full of thankfulness; for good health, for friends and family, and for you, the faithful supporters of Red Willow Ministries.
Former Staff 'Star Search'!
This past summer we started a deliberate effort to identify and locate the summer and full time staff who have served Red Willow Ministries since the early 60's.
We hired former counselor Debbie (Torguson) Pyle to spend the summer chasing down leads and using the phone and internet to locate our former staff. She has compiled an impressive list from the 60's and into the 70's.
We can use your help! If you were on staff, or know someone who served here in any capacity: Counselor-in-training, site manager, program director, cook, nurse, etc, please let them know we are looking for them! We can send a scanned picture of the year(s) they were here, and hopefully they can help us connect with more staff.
We hope to help arrange some staff reunions, and there has been some discussion among the 60's staff already. So stay tuned, and encourage your friends and families with a Red Willow Bible Camp connection to contact us this year.
We will try to publish one photo from the 'old days' in each of the upcoming eNewsletters. Stay tuned!
