Summer Season Underway!
2009 Summer Staff
Staff training started at the camp the week of May 11th when the Coordinators for Environmental Education, Arts and Crafts, and Media arrived.
Allison Stoltz, Program Director, has finished the summer Bible Studies, finalized staff training, and now is busy welcoming the new staff for the summer.
The staff has been working on Vacation Bible School material and will be placed on teams to go out and bring our program to 11 area churches in June.

Counselors in Training
Last summer, we were blessed with 12 young people in our Counselor in Training Program (CIT) . We really thought we could never top that! Well, we have, with 14 high school students being accepted into our program running from June 7 to June 19.
We are so pleased to have them in our training program, as they will make great summer staff in the years to come.
Please keep all these fine young people and summer staff in your prayers throughout the camp season.

Chapel Anniversary Celebration
60th Anniversary of the Camp Chapel
July 23, 2009
6:30 p.m.
Memories: That's what we are looking for!
We are celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Camp Chapel this summer at our July 23rd Friends of Red Willow Appreciation Dinner.
If you can share any information about the planning, fundraising and construction of the Chapel, we would love to hear from you. If you have any photos, drawings or other memorabilia, we would be happy to make copies and return the originals to you. Give us a call at the camp if you have anything to share.
Chapel Roof Project
One of the most encouraging projects going on at the camp this spring is the reshingling of the chapel roof. There are two layers of old shingles, and the beginning of water damage to the ceiling.
The fine people of Trinity Lutheran in Carrington once again have come to the rescue. They decided this spring to raise the funds for the roofing project, and to provide the skilled labor to do it up right. They even went above and beyond that commitment when they took off the first shingles, and realized the roof required an additional layer of plywood under the new shingles. They raised the additional money, and were also helped by the Tri-County Ministry churches with the cost.
One individual who went above and beyond the call of duty was the pastor of Trinity, Pastor Bruce Vold. He collected pledges from near and far, and set out from his home in Carrington on Monday, May 11th, and walked to the Bible Camp...a journey of 55 miles. His son, Matt, and Denny Goetz, RWM Co-director, joined him along the way. Pastor Bruce raised $5,250 for the Chapel project with this one event.
In February we started mailing out our summer flyer describing our full summer schedule. The registrations are coming in faster every day and a few of the camps are filling up fast.
If you want to know if a camp still has room, call Erica in our office or check out the summer camp listings on our website. As soon as a camp is filled, Erica will mark it full.
