October is full of opportunities for all ages!
We have everything from an Inspirational Trail Ride to a Wild West Rodeo Day Play for Kindergarten to 3rd graders. Check out the Fall/Winter/Spring flyers for more information.
We have just mailed out 2000 flyers to campers, churches, WELCA groups and Friends of Red Willow. If you did not receive one or want extra flyers for your church or friends, just contact Erica and we will happily send them out to you.
Craft at Camp!
Our Fall retreat season is officially off to a great start with a Creative Memories group here from September 18-20. Seventeen women spent the weekend tapping into their creative side, making keepsake albums and greeting cards. If you missed it, there is another coming up in April.
Don't miss the other creative retreats this Fall:
Have Your Next Meeting at Camp!
Are you interested in renting the Retreat Center this year for your own event?
Consider having a Church Council Retreat, a youth lock in, or a Bible Study at the camp. To find out availability and cost, contact Becky Goetz.
2009 Quilt & Fine Arts Auction Recap
The 22nd Annual Quilt Auction was a wonderful celebration of old and new friends coming together to support the ministry of the camp. September 12 was a beautiful day for the event, with the tractor show on the game field, the Antique Quilt Bed Turning in the Memorial Chapel, and the auction item viewing in the Retreat Center.
The gym was full to overflowing with an amazing number of quilts. The time and talent needed to create these quilts is quite amazing. The winner of the Quilt Raffle (Summer Porch queen sized quilt) was Cindy McLean of Fargo. You can still view the quilts on the camp website. Some are also posted on Red Willow's Facebook page.
The proceeds from the day's events are a joy to announce! After expenses, the event raised $27,286. Part of the increase of $2,500 over 2008 is due to a generous gift from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans for $5000!
We're on GoodSearch
Here's a very easy way you can help the camp. Instead of using Google or another search engine, try out GoodSearch.com.
They donate a penny to the camp with each search. Just be sure to type Red Willow into the "Who do you GoodSearch for?" box (it is the second box in the middle of the page). Click "verify" or hit enter, then it should say Red Willow Ministries (Binford, ND). Then you can type what you are searching for in the top box and camp gets a penny. Easy!
You can also download the web browser toolbar and other plugins to contribute to Red Willow when you search with GoodSearch.
For those of you who ordered DVDs at camp this summer - we haven't forgotten about them. DVD production was at a standstill until some music copyright issues were resolved, so now Joel is working as quickly as he can to get them done for you! Thank you for your patience. They will be worth the wait!
