News from Camp
New Program Director
Allison Stoltz, our program director for the past 15 months, has announced that she has accepted a teaching position in the Bismarck area and will be leaving Red Willow Ministries at the end of July. We are thankful that Allison has been a part of the team for two summers, and wish her all the best as she begins her teaching career.
The good news is that the search for a new Program Director was accomplished in a few weeks. Allison has two team leaders this summer, acting as her assistants. Josh Silbernagel, one of the team leaders has been hired as the Program Director effective August 1.
Josh and his wife Rachel live in Fargo. Rachel is employed by Frasier Hall. Josh is a member of the Christian band, ‘Hands’ and has been touring and recording albums with this group for the past several years. He is willing to give up life on the road to serve the Lord as the Program Director of Red Willow Ministries. You will be hearing more from Josh in the coming months.
This Summer So Far...
from Becky Goetz, Co-director
Summer officially started on June 21, but we have been either preparing for camp, bringing Vacation Bible School to churches, or hosting camps at Red Willow since the middle of May. Right now the sounds of junior high campers playing an all camp game are wafting over the camp. The pool is warm and inviting on these summer days, and our waterfront features our popular water trampoline and three new kayaks.
Most of our camps still have openings, so if you know of youth 1st grade to high school who might want to come to camp this summer, check out our website or call us for more information.
Remember, "Camp Changes Lives!"
Radio Stars Fundraiser Recap
A beautiful Friday night at the Red Willow Resort brought back many fond memories for the folks who used to attend the dances and roller skating at the Pavilion.
On June 25th, the Pavilion was again the place to be as the Stokka Family Band and the Radio Stars performed as a benefit for the Bible Camp. Rounding out the evening events was a live and silent auction. Merrill Piepkorn, Public Radio host and leader of the Radio Stars, was the auctioneer and was able to coax some amazing bids for the juneberry pies. The two auctions brought in $1347 and about 150 people attended the event.
A big thank you goes out to all who donated time, services and auction items to make this event a success.

Appreciation Dinner
Thursday, August 12, 2010
6:00 - 8:00 pm
Our faithful supporters will be honored for their financial support and for many hours of volunteer work and camp improvement projects.
The theme is This is Holy Ground and the program will be in the Memorial Chapel. Pastor Randal Schlecht from Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Valley City, and former camper at RWBC, will be the guest speaker.
The stained glass windows in the Chapel will be dedicated and all the contributors to this special fund will be recognized.
All Friends of Red Willow are invited to attend this event and enjoy a great meal, special music, the celebration of completed projects, and catching the vision for new ventures ahead.
Quilt Raffle Tickets Available!
This year's theme is "Crazy for Quilting" and having a "Crazy in the Cabin" raffle quilt seemed just right.
Tickets are only $5 and available by calling the camp, sending an e-mail or contacting one of our board members or staff.
Keep an eye on our website for more photos of the raffle quilt and donated auction items as they arrive at the camp.
