Fundraising Events

Red Willow Ministries strives to provide quality, creative programming to youth and adults all year round. In order to do this, we hire qualified staff, provide recreation, program materials and great food to our guests. The income from these summer camps and year round retreats provides about 25% of our operating budget......So we rely on our Friends of Red Willow, and several fundraiser events throughout the year to supplement our modest charges.

We love having our faithful supporters and new friends visit the camp. We have worked hard over the past three years to improve the retreat center, chapel and cabins. We also added a new girls bath house and have begun an ambitious campaign to build a boys bath house next to the boys village and the chapel.

You are cordially invited to attend our fundraisers, and to get in on the fun, fellowship and philanthropy!

Winter Fun Day

A Fundraiser for Red Willow Ministries

Saturday, February 20, 2010
2:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Plenty of good food and winter fun for the entire family! Winter Fun Day is a fun-filled day of outdoor activities including:

• Dog sled rides
• Cross country skiing
• Sledding
• Snowshoeing
• Ice fishing
• Hayrides

Bring along your ice fishing equipment, snowshoes, and skis if you have them. We have a limited number of snowshoes and skis for use.

Warm up inside with hot chocolate and a cozy fireplace. We also have lots of fun indoor activities such as carpetball, foosball, pickle ball, air hockey, board games and cards, and a gymnasium.

A silent auction will be in progress all day. The auction will feature a print donated by artist Ken Hedmark of Tower City, ND. Donated items for the auction are much appreciated! You can see Ken Hedmark's artwork at www.aquaticreflectionsgallery.com (external link)

The evening will feature a delicious meal and musical entertainment by the Dier family of Grand Forks.

The dinner begins at 6:00 pm and the music at 7:00 pm.
Cost: Free will offering to be used for Bible camp scholarships

Lutefisk and Meatball Dinner Fundraiser

Sunday, December 6th, 2009
Serving from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm

Red Willow Ministries is serving a lutefisk and meatball dinner on December 6, 2009. Menu includes: lutefisk, meatballs, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, cranberries, lefse, juneberry pie. Only 200 advance tickets are available. Tickets will not be available at the door, so please purchase tickets from the camp office by December 1st, 2009. Tickets are $15 each, ages 12 and under eat for free.

9:15 am	Quilt Viewing (all morning) Silent Auction bidding begins Antique Tractor Display on the Game Field Anyone wanting more information about entering a tractor in this show is encouraged to call the camp and ask for Denny.
9:30 am	Prayer Breakfast
10:15 am	Antique Quilt Bed Turning in the Chapel
11:15 am	Buffet Lunch served in Retreat Center
12:30 pm	Live Auction begins in Retreat Center Silent Auction continues

2009 Quilting Awards

	Quilters' Choice Award The Quilters' Choice Award is determined by one vote per guest at the August 25th Appreciation Banquet. 2009 winner - "Jewel Box Batik" by Shelley Halvorson.
	Bidders' Choice Award The Bidders' Choice Award is determined by votes the day of the auction. Each person registering to bid receives one vote for a favorite quilt. Additional votes may be purchased for $1.00. 2009 winnter - "Gone Fishing!" by Nancy McKinnon.
	Auctioneer's Choice Award The Auctioneer's Choice Award is selected by the auctioneer and family members. 2009 co-winners - "Falling Leaves" by Lorraine Edlund and "Gone Fishing!" by Nancy McKinnon.

Each WELCA group in the Eastern North Dakota Synod will receive a poster and tickets in June. Tickets are also available by contacting any board member or the camp office. All proceeds from the raffle and the quilt auction go directly to support the camp's ministry.

Quilt Appreciation Dinner

2010 Theme: "Crazy for Quilts"
The special guest is Sue Johnson from Finley. She is a weaver, and will bring a loom for her presentation. She is the curator of the Steele County Museum in Hope.

Every summer we host an appreciation dinner for our faithful and generous supporters, including music and a featured speaker. You will also get the first peek at the quilts and other items donated to the Quilt Auction in September. Dinner begins at 6:00 pm at the Red Willow Bible Camp Retreat Center. This is a complimentary dinner, however reservations are requested by August 19, 2010. Call (701-676-2681) or e-mail us (redwillow@mlgc.com) to join us for this event.
